We need prayers!

We need prayers.

As you already know, we are trying to sell our house right now. Selling a tiny house can be difficult, mainly because since it is technically an RV you can’t use a mortgage for financing. You have to use an RV loan or a mobile home loan which tend to have higher interest rates and usually have to be paid back much faster than a mortgage. Fortunately, we have had a lot of interest in the house!

One couple who would like the house stand out to us as the people who should have this home. Matt and Melissa are friends of ours that we met through the massage school I attended, Massage Therapy Institute, and they are both massage therapists. I have been going to Melissa regularly for the past year and a half for massage therapy and I have grown to really trust and love her. Within a few minutes of meeting her you know how much faith she has and who she puts her trust in. She has even played worship music during the massage so it can be a relaxing time of prayer and worship. This couple has fallen in love with our home and we have been going back and forth with lenders trying to provide anything they may need to provide a loan for them. We are pleading that everyone please prays that we can find a lender for this couple to buy our home!

David and I frequently ask friends and family members for prayers, usually just by sending a text with a prayer request. Most of our friends reply exactly how we do, by replying with “Of course” or “Praying!” And we appreciate all of these prayers so much!

Our friend Jennifer has been an amazing prayer warrior for us. She has texted us prayers to God on our behalf. When she prays for us over text it feels as powerful as someone in the same room laying their hand on us while praying. Here is an example of a prayer text she sent us earlier this week.

And now, our new friends Matt and Melissa have also been prayer texting to us! This is something we have only experienced with our friend Jennifer and have never talked to anyone about, but it has been such a blessing to see this faith poured out in something as simple as a text.

David and I have been praying about how to start a prayer team. Having about half of our mission partners in Georgia and the other half in Alabama has made it hard to know where to start with asking people to pray for us. This may sound very “millennial,” but these texts have made it clear to us this week that our prayer team can be individuals texting or emailing us. We feel so encouraged that we can still have this form of prayer from the people we love when we are in Thailand! We encourage everyone to try prayer texting, or sending an email, because just as any prayer to God, it is powerful.
