Selling Our Home

Many of you may already know that David and I live in a tiny house. Not just any tiny house, but our dream home.

About 3 years ago when we were living in a rental house in Madison, AL we learned about tiny houses. Within 1 week of us catching up on some shows on HGTV we decided that a tiny house would work for us perfectly. We did our research and looked at different house models online, but there wasn’t one that was exactly what we were looking for, so we designed our own.

We measured all the furniture we owned that we wanted to keep, decided which features were most important to us, and drew up some options. David had the great idea of picking up some sidewalk chalk so we could draw up our floorplans true-to-size in the street in front of the rental house. Once we decided on our floorplan we started contacting tiny house builders to see who could bring our plan to life.

We chose Lil’ Lodges because they were affordable and going to allow us to pick out every detail in our home. I LOVED this part. We picked out our paint colors, flooring, granite, light fixtures, wood ceiling, chalet windows, appliances, everything! Of course, there were struggles along the way! We had issues with getting a loan through the bank since our home is technically an RV, our house was not completed on time so moving out of our rental home in 1 day was extremely stressful. And then when our house was delivered to the trailer park we didn’t know how to hook it up to utilities and had to spend a few days just “camping” in our house without sewer, water, or electricity. We have now lived here for 2 years, and honestly, I would do it all again because I love this home and wouldn’t change a thing about it! Our lives are very far from perfect, but our little house, porch, yard, dog and chickens are pretty darn close to perfect for me!

I thought it would be much harder for us emotionally to sell our house, but we are honestly excited. As it gets closer to August and time for us to move we feel so ready for this transition! This week my dad visited and planted bushes for us to give the house more curb appeal. Yesterday we posted our house for sale and did a new tiny house tour on youtube. We are selling our home for $69,900 fully furnished with all appliances. Feel free to share our video or any of the websites we are using to sell the house (click here) on facebook or anywhere else. We’re happy to answer any questions about the house, and anyone is welcome to come by and see it.

As always, thank you all for the prayers and support.
